The Nation Is Tearing Itself Apart

What happened to our nation? I am 52 years old, listening to doomer music on youtube, and worried about the direction we are headed.

Never in my life have I see so much hate being spewed forth. A large portion of the younger generation has been lost to antifa, blm, socialist and communist.

A large part I blame our government for sending factories to china, which gave the current generation little to no hope. If you take away a mans hope of having a family, job, and owning a home, he has little to live for, which makes him dangerous.

Since the 1980s I voted for people who were suppose to oppose free trade, but the treaties kept getting passed. I saw entire industries be wiped out due to free trade, such as shipyards. It is easier to have our ships built oversees than here.

In part I understand the anger of the youth. If I had no hope of ever having a family or owning a home I may have acted the same way at their age.

I know a lot of young people blame boomers for the nations state, but our elected officials turned against us once elected. They told us one thing, then did another when they got into office. That person would be voted out, and the same thing happened, over, and over, and over all across the nation.

President Trump was voted into office to hopefully undo decades of trade imbalance and hopefully bring the jobs back, but democrats and even some GOP fought him. It is almost as if the government wants to ruin the nation. When Trump came forth there was a glimmer of hope. Now that glimmer is fading with the uprising of antifa and blm.

I do not understand why so may young people fight against someone who is trying to help them. They are literally biting the hand that is trying to rescue them. A few weeks ago I picked an abandoned dog up off the side of the road, took it to the vet, fed it, and gave it a home. That dog loves me and it shows its love everyday.

When Trump tries to help the younger generation by fixing the economy, youth literally revolt and riot in the streets. Are they to stupid, dumb, or brainwashed to understand what is going on? Unless the economy is fixed and youth are given hope of having a family, children and a home, things are going to get worse. They are going to get worse with every passing decade. Sooner or later they will say they have nothing else to live for.

Turning to socialism is not the answer. I am not sure what the answer is. We tried voting, and it did not work. Since the 1990s we were voting against free trade, but our presidents and senate kept passing free trade agreements.

So I sit here worried about the fate of the nation, worried about my grandkids and where we are headed. I worry we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg, or the wind before the storm.

How do you reason with people who have lost all hope?

Every president since nixon has given our nation away to China. When I was a child in the 1970s toys use to be made in the USA. Then by the late 70s early 80s they were all made in China, or Taiwan. Then the textiles, car parts... now everything is made overseas.

I wish Bernie had been elected rather than obama. At least Bernie would have done something. Yes, I am 52 years old and lean towards Bernie, not because of socialism, but because Bernie wanted to help people.

The family is the foundation of society. But people need a home, but first they need a job.

maslow's hierarchy of needs, a steady job provides the foundation for everything else. Family, love, feeling important, having a purpose in life.

I feel bad for the youth that they feel they need to riot. In 40 years, from the 1980s to now, our economy is a fraction of what it use to be. Home ownership is nonexistent. College debt through the roof.

What will the next 40 years bring? I suspect full blown revolution.

Saul alinksy communist manifesto play for play. Yuri bezminov was telling us clear warnings decades ago. Too bad so much of the boomer generation was into insurmountable debt and free love. When you tell someone that did something bad that what they did is good, that's often all the argument people need to hear.

I'm tired of people blaming everything on Boomers lately. These young'uns certainly aren't doing any better.

Libertas, since your post was pre-election, it is even worse now, unless there's a big surprise in the works.
