It is a simple question, are sites like reddit and tiktok creating unsafe echo chambers for young people? How could the sites be unsafe? They create echo chambers were voices of reason are not allowed.

For example let's take the transgender community. If we listen closely to young people who thought they could change their gender, started on a pathway of self mutilation, then reverseved course, they were in an echo chamber. What do I mean by echo chamber? The young people surrounded themselves with people who told them what they wanted to hear. If they "thought" they were transgender, then they did not want to hear a different opinion.

Sites like reddit and tiktok create echo chambers where moderators restrict or ban people who offer a different opinion than what group think wants. As a result a young persons opinion that they are trans is reinforced to the point of self mutilation through drugs and surgery.

The honest truth is puberty is a rough time. Rather than telling teens there is no such thing as transgender, and you can not change your gender and to bear things out, sites like reddit and tiktok may create unsafe communities where voices of reason are not allowed.

The simple solution is to not restrict freedom of speech. It is the individual's choice to listen to other opinions or not, but restricting the other side of an argument (by banning/deleting messages) is wrong and definitely not the solution.

It's really up to the individual tranny to decide if they want to listen to both sides, or just one. The option to listen to both should not be inhibited.

I fully agree with not limiting speech, but young impressionable teenagers are pulled into an echo chamber. Puberty is difficult enough without someone telling them they need to take hormones.
